Stage Plot
Wrecking Season is a young four-piece pop/rock group hailing from Raleigh, NC. Comprised of long standing members of Raleigh’s ever-growing music scene, The band started out in January of 2008. Members Mark McKee (vocals/piano/guitar), Chris Rafetto (bass/vocals), Chris Boyette (guitar/vocals), and Mike McKee (drums) had numerous successes in other bands in the area, and all brought together the experience and talent each one had achieved over the years to make Wrecking Season a truly remarkable band. The sound of Wrecking Season can be compared to modern groups such as The Fray, Augustana, The Wallflowers, OneRepublic, and the Counting Crows, with numerous influences including U2, Bruce Springsteen, and Peter Gabriel – just to name a few. Wrecking Season stands upon the strength of their self-produced 5 song debut EP (co-engineered by Mark McKee at the band’s home studio), as well as their intense and unforgettable live show. Wrecking Season’s songs are filled with radio-friendly hooks – without trying to cater to only mainstream audiences. “We are a band that knows our sound, knows how to communicate with the live audience,” Says frontman Mark McKee. “It is our burden to bear that we never stop working and striving to be the absolute best we can be at making music, and to bring that sense of urgency and excitement to every song and performance.”
The topsy-turvy, ever-changing music industry too often produces homogenized, run of the mill acts. Wrecking Season stands out as a band with a fiercely independent spirit, inspiring live performances, and top notch songcraft that defy the many ill-fated and dull musical trends permeating the airwaves. This is a band to watch for.
